Atlantic Gallery is proud to announce the opening of Brothers & Sisters, Dear Mutants, an exhibition of 19 paintings, on view from Tuesday, November 8th through Saturday, November 26th, 2022. A reception for the artist will be held on Thursday, November 10th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Evelyne Huet is a French artist who lives and works in Paris. She is a mathematician by training, a discipline that she chose for its infinitely dreamlike dimension and that she taught for many years at the Sorbonne and Paris 7 University. She also attended the Grande Chaumière atelier in Montparnasse, where she studied under the painter Artozoul. In 2019, Huet was made a full member of the Salon d’Automne. She regularly shows in solo and group exhibitions around the world.
Huet paints on a touch screen, with her finger and without a stylus, letting her creations come to her with nothing decided in advance. She simplifies the lines and shapes of bodies, often just the face, to the extreme.
Her digital images are printed in Brussels and New York, in various formats with a Diasec® finish (Museum Quality) in limited editions of three, signed and numbered.
« My paintings all speak of the Human Condition-Comedy, without distinction of geographical location, culture, anything. They speak of the Giants and Mutants that we all are to varying degrees. »
–Evelyne Huet
« The search for unity is essentially what Evelyne Huet makes clear. Her art becomes the rationale for thinking in more open, expansive terms, thereby removing the limits on the ordination of meaning in order to locate a more incisive pulse for communication. »
