Atlantic Gallery presents Breaking The Plane, an exhibition featuring new works by independent mixed media artists Chuck Fischer and David L. Rockwell. Fischer and Rockwell’s paintings and sculptures break the plane of the two-dimensional canvas, and are composed of colored, textured, and multi-layered elements. Fischer’s work is composed using common materials such as wood, copper and aluminum, while Rockwell’s fuses 3d printing and oil painting with mathematical and scientific principles. Both artists work in series and their visual complexities complement each other by creating a dialog between the artists· work and the viewer.

Fischer is based in New Hope, PA and received his BFA from the University of Kansas and studied under the mentorship ofBruce Dorfman at the Art Students League of New York.

Rockwell is a painter and 3d designer based in New York City. Originally from California, he studied fine art, graphic design and computer science at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Fischer and Rockwell exhibit around the United States, and their work is in both private and corporate collections. Fischer’s work is currently featured in Artists Magazine and his designs are in the permanent collections of the Cooper Hewitt Museum,Smithsonian’s Museum of American History, and in the Artist Book section of the Library of Congress.
