LIC-A@Atlantic VI, is a group exhibition featuring the works of 40 Queens-based artists, all of whom are members of Long Island City Artists, Inc. This diverse showcase includes painting, sculpture, graphics, and installations
An informal Meet-the-Artists event will be held on Saturday, February 22, 29, and March 7 from 1pm – 5pm. The artists will introduce themselves to visitors and discuss their works and the new growing art scene in Long Island City.
In addition, a continuous digital slide show will provide glimpses into the studios of the show participants, plus a brief visual tour of the art venues in Long Island City. All events are free and open to the public.
LICArtists, Inc., and Atlantic Gallery have much in common: both are artist-run, and share a mission of supporting the creative freedom and careers of their independent artist-members. LICArtists, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) arts advocacy organization, founded in 1986. It launched the Annual Open Studios tradition in Queens in 1985, and continues in service to the artists and communities of Queens with an extensive program of fine arts, classes, and theater performances at its present headquarters at the Plaxall Gallery in Long Island City.
